We’ve known each other since our children, who are now in their 30’s, were first graders. In fact, she and I taught together for a year at a homeschool community group called Pathway. Rae Lynn is a dynamo with a flow of creative fun ideas and energy to implement all that bubbles up from within. She wrestles with perfection and expectations and was honest and real about it in this episode. She is a devoted wife, mama of four grown sons and has a business that we chat a bit about called: Backgate Prayers. We had a Devine appointment in Marco Island and I knew I wanted to capture this interview while I had the opportunity. I celebrate my friend, Rae Lynn and I celebrate you too!

“Together" is my true love language, although it’s not one of the LOVE languages typically listed.
I wanted to be TOGETHER again to recap, via “the real deal” podcast, our unique morning at “Hearts Set Free.” This retreat @wooddalechurch was held in February; despite the cold weather, hearts were burning with love and affection for Jesus and one another. I felt it deeply.
I know my role and calling is to be an “Encouragement Specialist” and “Hopeologist!”
I experienced multiple prayers manifest by getting to share a tiny bit of our 7-8 year story, “Waiting on Grace” and sing on stage with my beautiful daughter @gu3ssitsgrace! Day made! Book coming in the future…co-written. #waitingongracebook.
We also laughed with sweet @cheeseballchick, opened the word and were challenged by the lovely @laura_sandretti and were guided through the morning gracefully by @staciachristenson. We were TOGETHER!

I was elated to have an opportunity to interview this man of integrity while on vacation together with our spouses and friends.
Lane’s perspective on life, marriage, Christian community, parenting along with learning from our own past mistakes and hardships was a delight to listen to and engage with as well.
Lane is an easy going, well-liked man and somewhat of a jokester with the ability to do a quick fly over or go down deep and address matters of the heart and be real.
I knew I had to have him join me for an episode of “the real deal” he is a life-long friend and I’m honored to know him. I share this with you knowing you’ll be challenged, encouraged and blessed.

The meshing of these two incredible connectors is God ordained. After they first met, a four hour coffee date ensued which turned into a lasting friendship and ministry. I delight to be linked together for any occasion. We are all “Happy Yackers.”
It was such a serendipity to record “the real deal” with Gayle and Kim at Stillwelle Farm in Michigan. God is using this amazing property to encounter people from all walks of life and in varied circumstances. No matter the reason, God draws folks to this place with the desire to encounter them on this holy ground.
We laughed, we cried, we exhorted each other and stirred one another to love and good deeds. Together is better than alone. I trust you will be blessed as you listen to "Happy Yackers"

Every encounter with Ken Riley included stories of the big things God was doing and it all flowed so freely. Once, after speaking at @lakeanncamp, out of my mouth came, “Ken, I have to have you on the real deal podcast because we talk about real people, real stories, and a real God!”
Ken is the Executive Director of Lake Ann Camp in Michigan. We first met in 2014 after I was invited to speak at their women’s retreat. I’ve been delighted to return many times. It’s been a great memorable experience. This episode of “the real deal” I offer with great joy! May the stories of what God can do encourage your heart and strengthen your faith.
