Hey, Rachel here! Ken Tarter is a husband, father, entrepreneur and he has been in my life since I was a university freshmen. We married siblings so our lives are forever connected and that pleases me. Ken is the real deal and has a huge presence and a song in his heart. One can always know if Ken is near because you hear him first, he is a whistler. 

Ken is a visionary with a heart for impacting the things around him to grow, shift and become better than before he was involved. He creates with the Creator. 

We sat down, in his office space in Maryland, to record this episode of “the real deal” and the time flew by! We had an honest, open conversation about life’s ups and downs, twists and turns and how the journey allows us to discover something more about ourselves and about the God who loves us and has a purpose in it all.

Roselyn’s rich life-journey spilled out as they spoke! She touched on her Norwegian heritage, growing up on a farm, becoming a nurse, her beautiful friendship that faced struggles and trials, her marriage later in life and hearing the voice of God.

Gayle and Rachel discussed taking new territory, new beginnings, a spirit of acceleration doing things together, being in the word, the power of testimony and to not despise the day of small beginnings. They delighted in this truth: God uses screw ups.

We all have something to share because God is moving. We get to be in the word and share testimony with others; it's a privilege and delight not drudgery. Admittedly, it is common to commiserate rather than to give thanks, rejoice and share testimony, but breakthroughs are happening and shifts are occurring, so let's CELEBRATE!

Things that have taken years are turning around. But the wilderness is "worth the wait and it's never a waste." During the wait, more is happening to you and in you than you may ever realize.

Jodi Lucas is a woman who is present, available and relational. She is led by the Holy Spirit and grateful for His presence in her life and has become even more aware of His role in it. She never wants to grieve the Holy Spirit.

Jodi has been a friend of mine for years, she is a wife, long term homeschool mom, a woman dedicated to discipleship, she is a lover of the word-Jesus, and she’s incredibly quick-witted and hilarious.

In this episode we talked about the faithfulness of God and how He can continue to course correct lives through a series of pivots. He has been an active pursuer of Jodi. He has been good and gracious to her and she has trusted and surrendered to His plans and ways.

We talked about her years in comedy, a pivot to high school ministry, her health issues dealing with infertility which led to the adoption of her two girls who are now young women. I can trace the hand of the good Father in all of it. I’m filled, delighted and so thankful for a morning spent with Jodi for “the real deal."
